Scan the Drivers License or read the drivers license using Easy ID (EASY DL) and Focus. Using the MS1690 or MK1690 you can easily scan the PDF417 barcode on most drivers licenses.
Formatting in the Drivers license is manipulated and delivered with delimiters that can be read into anything. Creating a file with the scanned data from the PDF417 with EASYID, can deliver Drivers License information into anything. Name, Address, Date of Birth DOB, Expiration Date, Date of Issue, are only a few of the things you can pull. |
Most states allow the scanned drivers license information to be shared. There are a few exceptions such as Texas and you need to check in your state. It is legal to share this information in most cases, as this article has stated.
Easy ID can be stand alone or even be provided in the scanner itself. We can imagine use for the Easy ID and Focus Kit to collect information for New Membership, Hospital Admittance, ticketing by the police, and even for age verification. Some of the applications are already being done.
This is hard to uniquely define a phrase, name, or even terminology for this technology. Some call it decode a drivers license, scanning a drivers license, drivers license scanner, DOB Scanner, reading a drivers license, or a host of other things. In the end, a way to read a drivers license with a barcode scanner equipped with firmware to pull and format the data to be output as you want it.
